Innovations on Display at Mystery Creek Fieldays 2013

June 10, 2013 Phil Gatehouse

Mystery Creek National Fieldays kicks off this week, with a focus on “Getting down to business in the global economy”. This annual event is a ‘must-do’ on the NZ rural calendar, providing the best platform for rural suppliers to display their latest innovations.

As usual the RX Plastics sales team will be at the event in full force, at Stand D83 and D85 - conveniently close to the main pavilion (as you can see in the map below).

This year we have several innovations on display and will be happy to answer any questions from distributors or customers.

Porta Trough

Our team have been working hard on new projects since last year’s event and among the products on display will be our new Porta Trough.

Designed in response to customer requests, the Porta Trough follows the example of the K-Line irrigation range as a robust product that has been designed to be easily dragged around a paddock behind a four wheel motorbike or other vehicle.

The easy to roll cylindrical body enables pipe to be wrapped around it for storage and is made from robust PE to withstand rough handling and contact with stock. The product comes with a 50 metre coil of LD 20mm pipe, a full flow value rated to 80psi, a removable tow cap for quick draining before you move to the next location and a tough tow cap for dragging during relocation.

The Porta Trough can also be purchased without the pipe if you prefer. All usual RX Plastics stockists will have the troughs available to purchase, and of course you can inspect it for yourself at our Fieldays stand.

High Pressure Wash Down Nozzles – high flow and velocity

For customers who are yet to see the recently launched wash down nozzles, Mystery Creek is the ideal opportunity.

Designed for washing down dairy sheds, the new nozzles are proving very popular, easy to use and highly efficient. They are available in 32mm and 40mm sizes from your rural supplies store.

LD Fittings and Electrofusion Fittings

Last year we launched our new range of LD fittings at Mystery Creek, and the full range will be on display this year too, along with our Electrofusion fittings which are ideal for  uses including irrigation and sewage.

The FRIATEC® innovative electrofusion product range includes many unique features, all of which are designed to speed up installation time and improve usage without compromising on quality and longevity of the connections.

Something new from RX – G-Set Pivot Corner irrigation

Our R & D staff have been busy developing something completely new to the New Zealand irrigation market, and National Fieldays is the first chance for NZ farmers to see what we’ve been doing.

Our G-Set fixed irrigation system provides an alternative to pivot irrigation and the movable K-Line irrigation, requiring no labour and enabling paddocks of all sizes across a range of terrain to receive effective irrigation.

The first release of this new product will focus on Pivot Corners, enabling irrigation to be delivered to all corners of a paddock that is primarily irrigated by a pivot system.

Hooking up to the same water supply, the G-Set sprinklers are installed in the ground at regular intervals, and set up to turn on in a pre-programmed sequence that can be controlled from the farmhouse.

Sample installations of G-Set are underway, which will deliver data to help further refine the product and the control systems, which can be wired or wireless.

The benefits of G-Set is that it can irrigate an entire area in the course of one day with no labour, no maintenance, ensuring that each day the farmer can choose to turn the system on to replace evaporative loss from the previous day.

This system is really one you’ll want to see for yourself, so do visit our stand to have a look.
